Privacy policy
This policy describes how Savvy handles — or rather, does not handle — your personal data. The guiding principle is simple: your data never leaves your device. Savvy is a personal-finance app designed to run entirely locally, with no server, no user account, no telemetry.
1. Data controller
Jeremy Smith, independent publisher, reachable at privacy@savvy-app.fr. The app is published and distributed under the trade name Savvy on Apple's App Store.
2. What data is processed and why
Savvy stores locally, inside its iOS sandbox on your iPhone, the information you enter:
- your monthly income (sources and amounts);
- your recurring fixed expenses (rent, loans, subscriptions, etc.);
- your accounts (main, savings) and their initial balance;
- your one-off transactions (entered manually or captured by the Apple Pay App Intent);
- merchant → category associations you have confirmed;
- your preferences (theme, language, display currency, budget caps).
These records sit in plain text in a SQLite database inside Savvy's app container, which is itself encrypted at rest by iOS following Apple's standards. No server URL is ever called to transmit, back up, or analyze these records.
3. No bank sync, ever
Savvy never connects to any bank, uses no aggregator (Bridge, Tink, Plaid, Powens or equivalent), stores no banking credential, and is incapable of seeing or reading your real account balances. Every transaction visible in the app comes from manual entry or a capture initiated by you (personal iOS Shortcut + native App Intent).
4. No cookies, no pixels, no telemetry
The app contains no analytics, no advertising SDK, no tracker, no advertising identifier (IDFA / IDFV). This site savvy-app.fr does not set any third-party cookie; the only technical cookie that may be set is strictly necessary (e.g. theme persistence), session-scoped, and never transmitted to a third party.
5. Your rights (GDPR)
GDPR applies to data processed by a controller. Since Savvy does not technically process any personal data (nothing leaves your iPhone), there is no central record on which to exercise an access, rectification or erasure request at our end. You retain full control over your data:
- Access and rectification: directly in the app, at any time.
- Erasure: Settings → Advanced → Erase all data, or uninstall the app (iOS removes the sandbox).
- Portability: a JSON export of your full database will be available in a future release.
- Complaint: you may file a complaint with the CNIL.
6. Sub-processors
No sub-processor has access to your data. The only technical intermediaries involved in your use of the app are:
- Apple Inc. as distributor (App Store). Apple is governed by its own privacy policy.
- The host of this website, which receives no app data (no communication takes place between the app and this site).
7. Changes to this policy
Any substantial change will be announced on this page with the date above updated. Previous versions can be archived on request to privacy@savvy-app.fr.
